On July 28th we will be holding our evening meeting at 7:00. Our speaker will be John Layne. John is an international, multi-award-winning Author of Historical and Contemporary Western Fiction, accomplished screenwriter, and actor. He recently retired from a career in law enforcement that spanned 41 years. His professional writing career began in the sports industry, where he penned articles for national magazines and online publications.  He drew literary inspiration from Louis L'Amour, Robert B. Parker, C. J. Box, and Lee Child. His passion for history and the western genre inspired him to write numerous short stories and a trilogy of classic western novels set in Texas.

Last week's actions
Last week we heard from Darren Collins of Hand Up Africa. Melissa Rotary has been supporting HAND UP Africa since its founding.
Hand Up is dedicated to preventing the spread of HIV and AIDS and improving the quality of life for those living with HIV and AIDS in East Africa – through education.
• We develop culturally relevant edutainment curriculum that anyone can use.
• We also present “deluxe” high-impact, performance art based edutainment programs ourselves in English, Kiswahili and various native languages of East Africa.
• Finally, we produce and perform new curriculum based on the needs of local foundations and organizations within Kenya. We currently are touring and supporting conservation education, child safety education, and civic education. We have pending projects on Fire Safety and Comprehensive Sexual and Menstrual Health Education.
