Our February 24thevening meeting will feature Mr. Kenneth Wooten, Principal of Melissa High School, and we are excited to invite you to join us.
Mr. Wooten uses the Rotary Four-Way Test in his leadership of school staff and we're thrilled he will be sharing more about that during this meeting.
We will begin at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 24th at the Melissa ISD Administration building and hope you will join us. We continue to meet at 7:30am all other weeks of the month. Please feel free to bring family and friends as Rotary is always open to everyone.
On March 3rd we will be learning about Leadership and best practices from Steve Tucker.
Steve is passionate about Business and Business Owners! He enjoys assisting others with strategies and solutions that they can use to transform their business, whether they are a soloprenuer or employ thousands–all are entrepreneurial and appreciate the lessons and best practices that He has learned over the years starting, owning and exiting multiple companies.
On March 10th we will be meeting off site as the ISD will be on Spring Break.
Last Thursday we heard from Ruth Thompson Founder, Hugs Cafe, Inc. In 2012, she has established a restaurant where the majority of those employed would be adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With the support of her husband, she formed a nonprofit organization and in October 2015, opened the doors to Hugs Cafe. Through a lot of hard work and the grace of God, the dream became a reality. During the fall of 2018, the organization opened Hugs Greenhouse, another social enterprise that employs other adults with special abilities who have no interest in working in food service but a love of the outdoors.
