On March 31st we will be hearing from Anil Srivatsa about the Gift of Life. Anil is a rotary and military brat and has found purpose in his life after a 30 year old checkered corporate and entrepreneurial career.  He now spends a 1/4 of his time in a year driving around the world championing the cause of Organ Donation with a goal of reaching a million people with this message of compassion and fighting fear for love. He has traveled across 44 countries by road telling his story to over 127K people via over 550 talks and spoken at over 100 rotary clubs urging them to take on organ donation projects. To facilitate this he has started a motley crew of 50 plus Rotarians and applied to start a Rotary Action Group for Organ Donation.

Great time to bring a friend, Spouse or co-worker.

Last week's actions
Last week we heard from Alex Johnson, president of the Plano West Club and Business Coach. He shared on how to grow your club by treating it as a business. We learned that our community is our customer and that we should be drawing our community into the service projects to build relationships and help them see what Rotary is all about. The club was very energized by the presentation and was buzzing with new ideas.
As a business coach, he uses his organizational skills and proven processes to heled grow his club and define their vision and organize operations to draw in more volunteers and potential members.

Our Member of the Month is Ken Truax. Ken Truax has moved to Melissa from New Mexico to be closer to family. He and his wife attend Our Savior Lutheran Church and are active volunteers.  Ken works at the Melissa Community Outreach and has helped at Meals on Wheels in McKinney. Ken has a heart for service and is excited to be a part of the Melissa Rotary. The picture below is at the Melissa Library where Ken worked with a team of Rotarians putting together some new computer desks for the library.
