Newly elected to serve Texas' third district in the 118th U.S. Congress, Keith Self will be speaking to the Melissa community at a Rotary sponsored luncheon from 12-1pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Congressman Self serves on the Foreign Affairs and Veterans Affairs committees, as well as the Election Integrity Caucus.  On June 30, Keith introduced the Electric Vehicle Tax Credits (FAIR-EV Tax Credits) Act.  This bill would prevent our foreign adversaries from receiving tax credits intended for Electric Vehicles.

Keith was in the military most of his life, born and raised during his father's service in the U.S. Army, and accepted after high school to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point where he began a 25-year career of distinguished service. He and his wife, Tracy, have been married since his graduation at West Point.

His military service took him to Grenada, Europe, and the Middle East, including Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraqi Freedom, and to the Pentagon, where he worked on the most sensitive military programs.  Upon retirement from the Army, Keith served as County Judge in Collin County, TX in 2006 -2018.

All Melissa residents are welcome.  Please RSVP to (972) 850-6765, melissarotary@gmail.com.

The luncheon will be held at the Crossland Learning Center (the red building) at the Melissa ISD headquarters, 1904 Cooper Street, Melissa, TX 75454. Please park in the rear (east) parking lot.
