The Melissa Community Chili Cook-off sponsored by the Rotary Club of Melissa in February brought together volunteer chefs from the community to raise funds for the Rotary International Foundation. Tasters voted with their dollars, raising close to $500 at the weekday luncheon to improve health, provide quality education, improve the environment and alleviate poverty.
