Melissa residents are welcome to attend. RSVP: MelissaRotary@gmail.com

The event will be held September 14th, 12-1pm, at the Crossland Learning Center (the red building) at the Melissa ISD headquarters, 1904 Cooper Street, Melissa, TX 75454.  Please park in the northeast parking lot.

Mr. James has served on the school board for the past 22 years, including being involved in many school board committees, and has been on the Board of Trustees since 2002.

He has seen Melissa grow from a small farm town into the current 23,000+ community, having lived in Melissa for over 37 years. Most of that time, he was president of the Country Ridge Property Owners Association, and just retired from that role last month.

In addition, he has been very involved in service and leadership in his church and Melissa ISD school organizations and activities. Mr. James has served as president of the Melissa Education Foundation for several years.  He has been a member of many building programs with other residents of the school district to help set direction for what to build as well as to determine what to offer our kids related to academics and UIL activities and when to offer them.

In the early days of Melissa ISD, George volunteered as a coach when the district was short on coaches. He continues to announce the varsity football games on Friday nights and the sub varsity games on Thursday.
He is proud to say that he announces the Melissa annual Christmas Parade "regardless of the weather!!"

George James' says that his "one paying job is being a real estate broker," with Melissa as his primary focus.  He "sells the City of Melissa to potential new families on a daily basis", resulting in being involved in many families coming to Melissa
